Founding MODBAU GmbH upon GE selling its modular space business. partnering with 2 modspace-management team members, engaged third partner as investor, prepared business-plan, presenting to investor’s supervisory board, establishing a profitable € 3 MM business in 3rd year with projects in Germany, Belgium, South-Africa, Libya and Phillipines delivering turn-key high quality (semi-) permanent modular buildings as well as facility management services. Headcount 9 employees.

2002 – 2007: Managing Director & Sales Manager Germany, General Electric Equipment Services – Modular Space, Neuss, Germany

Combined responsibilities as MD and Sales Manager. Full P&L responsibility for a $ 35 MM GE asset management business unit. Providing modular space solutions for a broad range of customer segments i.e. construction, industry, automotive, government, education, & events. Realised revenue growth in 2006: 31%. Customer Net Promoter Score: consistently at 40-50%!
Leading a team of 155 employees of key-account managers, outside sales reps, inside sales reps / call centre, Marketing, project sales support including architects and engineers, sourcing, 10 branches with project managers, branch managers & service technicians. 2000 – 2002: Operations & EHS Manager Germany, General Electric Capital Modular Space, Neuss, Germany

Leading Transport and Service department with 135 employees, direct span of control 15 in full compliance with GE Environmental, Health & Safety program.
Responsible for 15 locations throughout Germany, including storage, repair, maintenance, preparation and building to spec of 25.000 modular units, material management & furniture, including all internal and external logistics and rebilling of additional services and damage. Deciding on branche-structure, re-negotiating and closing rental contracts and all environmental and safety related measures and investments.
Responsibility operating budget: € 20 MM, Capex € 2,5 MM.

1999 – 2000: Transport Manager Germany, General Electric Capital Modular Space, Neuss, Germany

Leading internal transport department with 35 employees. Re-integrating acquired, discharged, and returned employees (culture, frustration, teambuilding, etc.). Responsible for delivery, pickup, intra-customer transport and setting up modular units with a total of 30.000 movements per year. Improving customer satisfaction (on time delivery improved from 75% to 98%). Member of steering committee implementing SAP/R3. Process owner SAP-implementation for logistic function, including complete process re-engineering. Responsibility operating budget: € 7MM

1998 – 1999: Integration Service Manager, General elctrice Capital Modular Space Europe, Antwerp, Belgium

Leading 150 acquired employees in Germany. Integrating 8 locations with 150 employees in existing company structure. Leading reconstruction of 5 branches. Outsourcing physical distribution to one sole supplier requested by parent company. Insourcing physical distribution upon insufficient performance. Leading six sigma project physical distribution Germany, Netherlands & Belgium
