•2009-: TiasNimbas Business School, Director Marketing (1,0). This top-ranking international business school is strong in a wide range of executive master and MBA programmes. I manage a team of 12 and have a seat in the MT.
Results:

•2008-: Strategisch Marketing Advies (PT), Founder, is a part-time marketing consultancy to advise companies on how to improve their marketing effectiveness. So far supported professional services organisations to grow through better marketing and an aligned business strategy

•2007-: Stichting MarkAiding (PT), Chairman. A group of 8 marketing managers/directors give on a part-time basis unpaid time to charities to assist with strategic or tactical issues. So far we assisted AMREF Flying Doctors, Nierstichting, Tubercelosefonds, Hersenstichting and Getitdone, which has proved to be very effective for them.

•2006-2009: Planon BV, International Marketing Director. Dutch ISV (300 staff) that sells facility management & real estate software to big corporates and government organisations. Operates in the UK, Germany, Belgium, France, USA and HQ in Nijmegen. The role was an MT function and managed the international marketing team (10 staff), with €1,5m marketing budget.

Results:
•Strategic planning: marketing was very reactive and adhoc. So I brought structure through strategic marketing planning with close alignment of sales and marketing targets
•Brand building: there was no positioning, so have developed this with head product management (Green Workplace Economics), which is benefit based and the exact themes that are very relevant for the target audience
•SMART: marketing’s contribution is made fully measurable with ratios such as PROI: set target is 10+ per invested €1.

•2003-2006: SAP Nederland, Marketing Manager SMB, (worldleading provider of business management software). Responsible for €1,5m budget to enable the SMB channel (50 partners) to meet their sales targets and to adjust SAP’s image of supplier just to large companies. I managed a team of 3 to achieve this
Results:
•Strategy development: played a vital role in developing new routes to market to build up this channel business
•Leadgeneration:
•overscore of leadtarget yearly by 50%, enabling 300% sales growth in 2 years
•developed new Telemarketing concept consisting of TM with focused sales training, which increased the lead-opportunity conversion by 30%
•Branding:
•increase in aided SMB brand recognition from 55% to 70% in 2 years
•significant swing in vendor preference for SAP as SMB player from 25% to 40%

•2001-2003: SAP Benelux, Industry Marketeer Business Services & Finance. Position covered all marketing aspects from market research to the development of a marketing strategy (desired share of PMCs) and execution of leadgeneration programmes

•Leadgeneration:
•leadtargets were exceeded every year by 25% through effective lead nurturing
•innovative methods such as access to sector associations via happy customers significantly helped to generate additional leads and bigger impact on the DMU

•1995-1998: Enviros March, Senior Consultant, the strategic marketing division of this business consultancy (Windsor & Manchester (UK)). Responsibilities included Europe/US-wide consultancy assignments, for mainly chemicals & manufacturing co’s

•1992-1995: Beddows & Company, Junior Consultant at this strategy consultancy (London, UK): world-wide market research, assistance with strategy formulation for the sectors metals and aviation.
