The operational processes in Accounts Payable have now been transferred to the Bismarck Shared Services Centre, and I was pro-actively involved in all stages with this transfer and implementation. My current role includes responsibilities to ensure that the required processes for Disbursements are in place with adequate controls, regularly reviewed and changed to reflect changing business requirement.

I spent a year in the Unisys Internal Audit Services Department, working as Senior Internal Auditor. During this time I gained exposure to many European subsidiaries, including a lot of time in the UK, performing both operational and financial reviews. Additionally this role involved, much attention paid to ensuring that sound internal financial controls are in place in the region, and compliance with both Internal Policies and US GAAP.

Regional Finance and Accounting Manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the Amsterdam Shared Service Centre. The role supported the provision of accounting services to European Finance operations in compliance with US GAAP. I was responsible for the accounting of activities have been centralized (Bank and Cash; Inventory; Fixed Assets; Accounts Receivable; Accounts Payable; Revenue and Cost Accounting etc.) An important part of the role was to work with Country Accounting Managers to ensure that an efficient flow of information between the country accounting operations and the SSC existed. Key tasks included the monthly accounting close process; updating GL and Subsystems and making sure that the General Ledger figures were reliable and supported by the sub ledgers through a reconciliation’s process.
