2002 - present FLASHPOINT B.V. Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Co-founder/Owner/Director
• Developed a retail concept and new brand of high end bars/restaurants in The Netherlands. Opened a pilot location in May ’03. Operations broke even after 5 months indicating the viability of the concept. Privately funded & 10 employees.
• Responsible for business & financial planning and new store locations. 3 New store locations planned for opening 2Q en 3Q 2005.
• Negotiated and closed (14 February 2005) the sale of the company to a private equity firm specializing in retail roll-outs. Currently working for this private equity firm to optimize the retail concept and plan the roll-out of 10 new outlets in the next 12 months.

2001 TANTIAN, INC. New York, New York
Product Development Manager
• The second US hire for an Israeli company creating risk management software for traders of ‘novel’ commodities (e.g. energy, bandwidth and chemicals). Responsible for the development and commercialization of the software module for the Chemical Industry.
• Managed a 6-person software development team in Tel Aviv (Israel) and responsible for the release of a demo-product for the Chemical Industry (intense 10-week project 50% in Tel Aviv).
• Developed a strategic plan for market entry in the Chemical industry (US & Europe).
• Note: The events of September 11, 2001 in New York proved catastrophic for Tantian.

1999 - 2001 CHEMCONNECT, INC. San Francisco, California
Director of Business Development
• Early employee of this start-up that grew out to be an icon in the B2B space and is currently the largest electronic exchange for chemicals and plastics. Responsible for strategic planning and alliances.
• Member of the management team during the first 6 months of employment; a determining phase of the company during which the first product was released and a course was set for a period of rapid expansion following the closing of the second round of financing ($15M).
• Identified, negotiated and formed strategic alliances and complex partnerships in a dynamic and challenging Internet environment with companies that complement the activities and services of ChemConnect (e.g. Citibank, SGS, WebMethods & Stolt Nielsen).
• Responsible for ChemConnect’s first overseas expansion and established the Singapore office.
• Represented ChemConnect at speaking engagements and interviews. Secretary to the Advisory Board.

1994 - 1997 THE DOW CHEMICAL COMPANY Antwerp, Belgium
Industrial Account Manager
• Managed 20 key industrial Polyurethane accounts in the Benelux/France region. Customers active in the automotive, construction, furnishing and (base)chemical industry. Negotiated supply contracts ranging from $200k to $10M in annual sales.
• Developed $15M of additional business at the existing customer base and at new customers.
• Responsibilities increased from $10M to $60M in annual revenues. Promoted after first year. This was 1 to 2 years ahead of a regular promotion path.
• Performed market, industry and competitor analysis for the Benelux/France region. As a member of the European marketing team contributed to the European marketing and business strategy. Appointed the DOW representative to the Dutch Society of the Polyurethane Industry (an industry lobby organization).

1993 - 1994 TNO INSTITUTE Delft, The Netherlands
Project Manager
• Led a team of 5 research analysts working on research projects, contracted by industrial customers (including Unilever, Procter & Gamble and Henkel).
• Initiated and managed the contracted projects. Reported and presented the final results.
• Conceptualized, developed, and implemented a computer-based measuring technique that significantly reduced measuring time and decreased the effect of human error.
