Privately owned Ecobat Technologies is globally the largest producer of Lead with approx. 1 Million tons per annum. Ecobat Technologies in majority does this through recycling lead-acid batteries. In conjunction, Ecobat Technologies also refines these lead scraps and specific lead containing ores that yield specialty metals like bismuth, antimony, silver and gold. Plastics are the main secondary material stream coming from the recycle processes. The Business unit produces and sells 80.000 tons of PP engineering compounds made from both internal & external end-of-life raw materials, which makes us the largest engineering PP recycling company in Europe. The majority of these materials currently go back into the Global Automotive Industry.
The Plastics recycling business unit consists of 4 Plants in Europe, 2 in Germany, 1 in Italy and 1 in the UK. My Position is Business Leader Engineering Plastics & Solutions with 6 direct reports and an international organisation of 100 reports, responsible for all aspects of the business. As part of the Global Leadership team I am reporting to the European Management Board, responsibilities encompassing Building & Managing Top-level Relationships with OEM’s, Commercial Negotiations, Acquisition of New Business, Strategic Planning and M&A. Responsible for 80 Million € P&L in the 2018 financial Year.

Accomplishments at current assignment:
• Increased profitable Volume growth Year-over-Year to > 10%.
• Increased EBIT margin from 8% to 12%
• Acquired Politec in Pieve di Cento in Italy
• Expanded the Product Portfolio with specialty materials like Glass Fibre Filled Materials
• Developed a new market area in Building & Construction with > 100.000 tons potential.

• Re-structured and Streamlined Commercially Related Company processes by using Lean Six Sigma Methodology and past experience, reducing accurate RFQ process time from >4 weeks to less than 1 week.

• Re-financed and sequentially re-listed the company at Wall Street through a successful IPO.

VP Supply Chain Management and Production Optimization
• Created a Strategic Sourcing Strategy and Savings Plan based on the Total Acquisition Cost Model. Target is to rationalize 75% of the supplier base and save 35 Million Euros in 2006-2008 minimum.
• Created an Inventory Reduction and Production Optimization Plan in conjunction with Operations, on the basis of the Toyota Production System model (Demand “pull” model). Target was a reduction of 25 Million Euros in 2006-2008 in system required operative Cash.
• Re-created the Supply Chain Management Division in order to handle the above targets and the changing company culture.
• Strategic Sourcing savings in 2006 were 15 Million Euros versus a target of 12 Million Euros, as well as compensating an inflation of 10 Million Euros.
• Inventory Reduction Plan delivered a reduction of 9 Million Euros versus a plan of 7 Million Euros for 2006
• The company was successfully re-financed in November 2006.
