01/2000-08/2008 COO of supplier to OMDs; 310 employees; €26m turnover
- The successfully executed rescue operation, which took three years, resulted in overall cost savings of €5.6m and in a flourishing company as by today.
- Liaised in the first three years with the auditors and company’s bankers on an almost daily basis, convincing them that the turnaround plan was feasible. Their confidence increased as they discerned that the steps in the rescue plan were reached as forecasted.
- Applied re-financing of the company; cancelled short-term loans and acquired long term loans with a much lower interest rate.
- Sold loss making subsidiaries to stop cash drain, reduce burn rate and improve cash flow.
- Applied Lean-Management Concept to reduce pay roll costs.
- Introduced streamlining of the parts and product range (as they had been over-engineered in the past), discarding all with a negative contribution margin.
- Introduced an industrial franchise concept, the company was able to acquire enough cash (due to charged franchise entrance fees and royalties based on turnover achieved) to evade insolvency.
- Introduced KANBAN and barcode in warehousing and manufacturing.
- Introduced Total Quality Management System to improve quality assurance.

- Sold several companies which were in the portfolio of the company well over book value, thus contributing to an increase in cash flow.
- Refinanced and re-scheduled funds as part of complex rescue package and to lower interests payable.
- Replaced inappropriate billing system with a new one with much better results.
- Analysed the supplier structure of the company and cancelled several contracts with existing suppliers and introduced a supplier selection system.
- Monitored and improved quality assurance system by introducing TQM.
- Introduced ISO 14000, which took environmental aspects into account.

08/1994-02/1997 COO of a plastic parts producing company; 280 employees; €20m turnover
- Got production of a variety of products successfully running which had been outsourced to Hungary from Germany.
- Joined productions and thus saved about 20% of costs
- Built up a retail organisation from scratch.
- Cut transportation costs by two thirds with a device which enabled stacking the merchandise in the lorry and by introducing swap-bodies for easier loading and unloading.
- Cut manual labour costs in part of final assembly by more than half due to the introduction of a device which helped to fix two parts together automatically instead of manually.
- Introduced KANBAN and barcode thus saving about 35% of overhead costs in the respective departments.
- Introduced Lean Management Concept to reduce pay roll costs.
- Introduced benchmarking and TQM to improve processes within the company.
