The purpose of Edward’s consulting work is to help clients to improve their business performance and risk management through application of Lean, Value-Oriented and Risk Management frameworks. He delivers support in several roles: consultant, trainer, facilitator, coach and/or project manager. His main areas of experience are:
- Governance (finance, risk management, IT management)
- Regulatory compliance (EU regulations and directives and EBA guidelines for banks)
- Process controls & improvement (SOx, Lean Six Sigma)
- Innovation (business plans, business cases, business requirements, portfolio management)
- Modelling (capital & liquidity planning, stress testing, recovery planning, activity-based costing)
- Reporting to internal and external stakeholders (related to Basel II and III and IFRS)

Edward typically solves complex issues, for which no solutions are known yet, in three till four months, while he can solve easier to tackle performance issues in a matter of weeks. He does this by leveraging knowledge present in organisations and acting as a facilitator of change, organising workshops with participants from all departments needed (e.g. sales, operations, finance, risk, IT and/or compliance) to share perspectives and insights and develop together options and approaches to reach the desired goals. This might take longer in case IT development is needed, in which case interim solutions might be developed and implemented. Another important aspect of his work is clear communication with internal and external stakeholders such as board members, regulators and internal/external auditors. Edward published several articles and books about the work area of CFO’s and controllers.
