Company in Stadskanaal (The Netherlands) which produces sapphire Semiconductor wafers for the strong growing Optoelectronics (LEDs) and semiconductor (RF and High power) business Results : The company gained momentum in a growing market. Found several investors and a bank to finance the growth and put a management team in place to take the company to the next level from pilot plant to full scale production and from hundreds of thousands of EUROs sales to a multi million EUROs business. Received two awards for most promising innovative Cleantech company (Deloitte, Government) 1/7/02-1/6/04 : Operations Manager Philips Lighting Automotive Chartres (France). Managing 450 people in the area of Production, Maintenance, Quality, projects, small innovations, processes, buildings, safety and environment. Main task: Reduce the operational costs with 20%. Improve the quality of our products (0 defects at car makers) and the customer relationship. This to make the factory profitable (losses 2002: 3,5 million Euro). Results: Changed the functional organization into a process oriented organization to make people more responsible for their actions. Create better teamwork and focus the organization on customers. Improve the quality of products by implementing a quality program. Decreased the number of people to 390. Financial results remained the same due to price erosion of products. 1/9/01 1/7/02: Member Philips Redesign team. Increase value of business units to be divested. Main task: Restructure the factory (350 people) of Philips High Tech. Plastics in Lommel (Belgium) together with newly appointed Plant Manager. Make the factory profitable (losses 2001: 16.9 million Euro, including restructuring provision of 15 million Euro). Result: Reduced 50 % of the development overhead. Set up a sales task force to focus on key accounts in order to increase revenues. Teams were installed to improve production processes and teamwork. Profit first six months 2002: 505,000 Euro. 1/3/00 1/9/01: Technical Director cap factory Philips Lighting Bielsko, Poland. Managing 260 people in the area of Production, Maintenance, Logistics, Purchasing and Projects. Main Task: Decrease costs (Losses in 1999: 1,1 million Euro), improve the processes to insure quality and logistic performance and regain customer satisfaction. Search together with Sales manager for undeveloped markets. Coach the employees to be customer oriented. Implement SAP ERP system. Result: 200,000 Euro profit first half 2001. 30% increase of sales with same amount of people. Increased logistic performance from 75% to 95%. Decreased the amount of complaints with 30%. Strategy made for next two years. Successfully implemented SAP ERP. 1/9/98 - 1/3/00: Production Manager in glass factory Philips Lighting in Winschoten, The Netherlands. Manage more than 100 people in Production, Maintenance, and Production Planning. Member management team. Main task: Improve organization, streamline production process and cut costs in order to eliminate the 3 million Euro losses per year and decrease the inventory with 35%. Result: 1 million Euro losses/y, 35% less inventory. Due to further price erosion we lost a package and had to fire 50 employees. Made myself redundant. 1/7/97 - 31/8/98: Project Leader in lamp factory Philips Lighting in Turnhout, Belgium. Coordinator between Production, Development, Marketing, Logistics and Maintenance during new developments and improvements. Main Task: Keep large customer (400 k Euro sales/y)who wanted us to decrease prices dramatically. Result: By working together with this customer we doubled the life of the lamp. Sales: 450 k Euro/y. No decrease in price. 1/11/94 - 30/6/97: Maintenance Engineer in lamp factory Philips Lighting in Turnhout, Belgium. Improved practical technical knowledge, learned to manage maintenance personnel (8). Main task: Improve efficiency of machines from 67% to 85% and coordinate teamwork between production and maintenance. Result: Efficiency 87% and half of third production shift not Necessary anymore. 1/12/93 - 31/10/94: Industrial Trainee at Philips Lighting. Followed manufacturing courses and worked as an operator in 3 shift systems. 1/10/92 1/10/93: Designer at OPRA BV in Hengelo, The Netherlands.
